The Council are responsible for keeping the Sabres running smoothly, and everything would completely fall apart without them (probably). If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can…get in touch with the Council!

President: Jack (Marty McFly)

Jack is our illustrious President and makes sure the rest of their Council is doing their jobs properly. In addition, he singlehandedly makes sure that the Sabres have enough blue in their lives by having very blue hair (this is also handy for pointing him out to new members!). Amongst his many achievements are the time he won the fancy dress competition on the Hallowe’en bar crawl.

Treasurer: Hannah (Panda)

Hannah’s job is to tell the rest of the the Council that no, we don’t have enough money to do that, and anyway, why would we want to? As the treasurer, it’s her decision whether to fund projects that the Sabres initiate, whether it’s setup costs for Sabrecon or money for more wargames terrain.

Secretary: Mark (Spitfire)

The secretary’s job is to look after the boardgames and keep them categorised, as well as booking rooms and taking notes at meetings. As such, that’s also Mark’s job (since he’s the secretary).

Social Secretary: Carl (Caboose/TheOgreGuy)

Carl is our social secretary, and is, therefore, the person charged with the fantastic job of arranging the Sabres’ socials and events (with the exception of Sabrecon). He’s known for collecting Ogres in Warhammer Fantasy and he plays a mean game of I Have Never. If you have wicked ideas for a social, or would like to see a certain fancy dress theme at the next bar crawl, he’s your first port of call!

Wargames Rep: Andrew (Psycho)

Andrew was the Wargames Rep in 2009/10, and returns triumphant this year with yet more awesome ideas for ongoing wargaming fun. He was responsible, amongst other things, for the Tale of N Gamers, which was an incredible success, so hopefully this year will be up to the standard of the last time he was around!

Magic Rep: Alex (Phoenix)

Phoenix is in charge of Magic: The Gathering and other card games, whether they’re CCGs, TCGs or some other TLA. He’s currently looking for ideas and suggestions for what Magic should be doing next year, so if you fancy giving him your input, visit the forum thread!

Nationals Rep: Dan (EvilDan)

Dan is old, wise, and really, really evil. He tends to turn up where you least expect him (especially free lunches) and is passionate about everything he’s involved with, so expect his tenure as Nationals Rep to be wildly enthusiastic!

Public Relations Rep: John

Well, this is me. Webmaster, poster designer, and general hanger-on, this is my fourth year on the council, having been social secretary twice and President once. I’m also the only person on this list without a cool nickname. If you need anything doing on the website or anywhere else on the web, I’m your man!
